Paula Reto had a steady third-round one-under-par 71 on Saturday in the LPGA Tour’s Marathon Classic, and, while she slipped to 37th on the leaderboard, she continued her good week as she took advantage of a start on the main tour.
She made four birdies and three bogeys, and she finished the third round on five-under for the week, 14 shots behind the leader Nasa Hataoka of Japan, who carded a third-round eight-under 64 to go with her opening 61 and her second-round 69. Hataoka had a six-stroke lead over Americans Elizabeth Szokol and Mina Harigae, with Germany’s Esther Henseleit in fourth.
