Paula Reto climbed 23 places on the leaderboard on Saturday with a third round of four-under-par 68 in the LPGA Tour’s CPKC Canadian Women’s Open took her to a 54-hole total of one-under-par.
She was in a share of 23rd after her solid third round, having opened the week with a four-over 76. She followed that with a one-under 71 to ensure she made the cut, and improved yet again ahead of the final round with her 68.
She was 12 strokes off the lead which was held by Korea’s Haeran Ryu, who had an eight-under 64 in the third round to move into a one-stroke lead over American Lauren Coughlin. Mao Saigo of Japan and Rose Zhang of the United States shared third on eight-under-par.
Reto had just a solitary dropped shot in her third round, from a bogey she made on the ninth. She made birdies on the first two holes on the front nine, and three more on 14, 14 and 18.
