Paula Reto fought back from two holes down with three to play on Thursday to earn herself a tie in her second match in the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A third birdie in succession – on the 10th – by her opponent Min Lee of Korea had put Reto two down. The pair exchanged birdies, with Reto coming back with one on the 13th and Lee seeming to get herself into an impregnable position with one on 15. But Reto made two in a row on 16 and 17 to tie things up heading down the 18th.

They tied that final hole in par, and that put Reto second in her bracket ahead of her final match against the third-seeded Celine Boutier of France. That will be a must-win game for Reto if she is progress to the knockout stages and probably meet up with Ally Ewing of the United States in the round of 16.
