Jason Roets closed with a one-under-par 71 on Wednesday to win the Bushveld Tour’s two-day event at ERPM Golf Club by one stroke. It was his first title on the circuit.
It took a birdie on 18 for Roets to pull clear of LB Boshoff, who closed with a four-under-par 68 to move to four-under for the tournament. Roets led after the first round with his four-under 68, and he was in front all the way until the 16th, thanks to three birdies and a lone bogey on the sixth.
But he made a double-bogey on the 16th, and slipped back into a share of the lead with Boshoff. But he dug deep enough to make the birdie on 18 to pull one clear.
Jason Froneman was a further shot back on three-under, after he bogeyed 18 to slip into a share of third with Luke Trocado and Regan Steyn.
