It was a bogey-free second round for Jayden Schaper on Friday as he carded two-under-par 70 in the DP World Tour’s BMW International Open at Golfclub Munchen Eichenried in Germany as he reached six-under-par for the tournament.
It was pars all the way on his front nine as he started his round on the 10th, and then he picked up his two birdies on the first and the third after the turn. He will head into the weekend in a share of fourth, three strokes behind the leader. Daniel Hillier of New Zealand signed for a five-under-pat 67 to move to nine-under and a one-stroke lead over Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen of Denmark. Joost Luiten of the Netherlands was in third on seven-under, and Schaper shared fourth with four other players.
Bryce Easton, Thriston Lawrence and Justin Walters were in a share of 14th on four-under. Easton overcame a double-bogey six on the 16th for his three-under 69, and Lawrence had a strong finish with three birdies in his final four holes for a 69 of his own. Walters had a run of four birdies in the first five holes of the back nine on his way to a four-under 68.
Hennie du Plessis had an up and down round, with an eagle, four birdies and three bogeys as he carded a three-under 69 to move to two-under for the tournament and a share of 32nd. Daniel van Tonder made a two-under 70 to be in a share of 41st on one-under together with Tristen Strydom who also had a second-round two-under 70.
Wilco Nienaber, Darren Fichardt and JC Ritchie all made the cut on the number at level-par, while Oliver Bekker, Thomas Aiken, Jacques Kruyswijk, Deon Germishuys and Zander Lombard all missed the cut.
