Jayden Schaper made a double-bogey and a bogey on his back nine on Saturday which stopped his charge somewhat, but he carded a one-under 71 in the third round of the Hero India Open to head into the final round in a share of 12th.

Schaper, playing on the DP World Tour on a special exemption through the Sunshine Tour for a few events, started his round with a bogey, but he got things going with four birdies in five holes from the fourth and was well placed inside the top 10.

Then came a bogey on the 13th and the double-bogey on the 16th, and that pulled him back to level-par for the round. But he managed to get back into red figures with a birdie on the closing hole. That moved him to two-under for the tournament.

In the lead was held by Germany’s Yannik Paul at 11-under. He led by one after a one-under third round from countryman Marcel Siem who moved to 10-under with his five-under 67. Joost Luiten of the Netherlands was in third on eight-under.

Thomas Aiken had a one-under 71 in the third round to be one-over for the tournament in a share of 37th, while Daniel van Tonder had a 71 too, and was one shot further back in a share of 42nd. Shaun Norris was on four-over, Bryce Easton on six-over, Jake Redman on eight-over and Albert Venter on 10-over.
