Jayden Schaper finished with three birdies in the final four holes on Saturday to set himself up for a big finish in the DP World Tour’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club.

Up front, China’s Haotong Li had a bogey-free five-under-par 67 to move to 13-under and a two-stroke lead over the halfway leader, Brandon Robinson Thompson of England. Two strokes further back, Schaper shared third with England’s Matthew Jordan. The were one clear of three players on eight-under in a share of fifth.

Schaper was deadly accurate off the tee in his third round, ranking first at 85.7 percent in that metric. His scrambling was also the best in the field, and his putting also kept him right in the mix.

Behind Schaper, Darren Fichardt slipped to a two-over-par 74 in the third round as he finished up sharing 25th place on four-under-par. He was one clear of Wilco Nienaber, who had a two-under 70 to be three-under in a share of 33rd. Casey Jarvis was a further shot back after a level-par third round put him in a share of 40th.
