Schietekat 8th at halfway mark in International Series England

Neil Schietekat carded a two-under-par 69 on Friday to move into a share of eighth place after the second round of the Asian Tours International Series England event at Close House near Newcastle.

Schietekat made three birdies and a bogey to move to three-under at the halfway mark of the tournament. That put him three shots off the lead which was shared by LIV Golf players Jason Kokrak of the United States and David Puig of Spain on six-under after rounds of 69 and 66 respectively. The led by one from Jack Thompson of Australia and fellow-LIV golfers Andy Ogletree and James Piot of the Unted States and Abraham Ancer of Mexico.

Schietekat shared eighth with seven other players. Dean Burmester was a shot back in a share of 16th on two-under after a second round of level-par 71, and Jaco Ahlers was on one-under in a share of 24th after he, too, had a second round of 71.

Jbe’ Kruger was in a share of 39th on one-over after his 71 in the second round, and MJ Viljoen was on three-over after a 74 saw him go into the weekend on three-over in a share of 62nd.

Ian Snyman didn’t make the cut after a two-over 73 saw him slip to five-over through 36 holes.
