A second successive five-under-par 67 for Robin Williams on Tuesday took him to a one-stroke lead after the second round of the Big Easy IGT Challenge Tour’s Q-School Warm-Up at State Mines Country Club.

The Englishman born in South Africa not only matched his opening round score, but he also turned in level-par for the first nine as he did the previous day. And he came home with an eagle and three unblemished birdies on the back nine for his 67, which gave him a one-stroke lead over Sentanio Minnie. In a share of third were amateur Judd Sundelson, with Luke Trocado carding the round of the day of seven-under 65 to move to eight-under ahead of the final round.

Williams started his second round with a bogey, and only regained that dropped shot with his birdie on the ninth. But his back nine got off to a perfect start on the shortish par-five 10th when he made eagles. He picked up shots on 12, 15 and 18 to maintain the lead he set up for himself in the first round.

Trocado made two eagles, four birdies and just one bogey in his seven-under.

Portuguese amateur Carlos Laranja and Michael Kok were on a share of fifth on seven-under-par after a pair of four-under 68s.
