Casandra Alexander carded a closing one-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish in a share of 14th in the Ladies European Tour’s Amundi German Masters at the Golf & Country Club Seddiner See.

That final round followed three rounds of 70, and, but for a double-bogey on the 17th, she had lined herself up for a top-10 finish. In the end, she made an eagle, two birdies, three bogeys and a double-bogey to finish the week on five-under-par.

She was 11-shots out of a play-off between Kristyna Napoleaova of the Czech Republic and Cara Gainer of England. After both finishing on 14-under, Napoleaova rolled in her birdie putt on the first play-off hole. The pair was three strokes clear of Sophie Hausmann of Germany and Diksha Dagar of India.

England’s Alice Hewson ended the tournament in fifth place on 10-under-par after a fourth round of 69. Spain’s Carmen Alonso, France’s Celine Herbin and Sweden’s Johanna Gustavsson finished in a tie for sixth place on eight-under-par and one shot further back was Italy’s Virginia Elena Carta alongside French duo Agathe Sauzon and Nastasia Nadaud.

Alexander is in 24th on the Race to Costa del Sol, down two places from her position last week.
