Ian Snyman closed with a four-under-par 68 on Sunday to climb into a share of 38th at nine-under-par in the Asian Tour’s Royal’s Cup at the Grand Prix Golf Club in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.
Snyman is finally able to take up his membership of the Asian Tour earned through the Qualifying School after the circuit was out of action for a lengthy period owing to the Covid-19 restrictions.
He made three birdies and a bogey on each nine, and he finished 14 shots behind the winner, Chan Shih-chang of Chinese Taipei. Chan also closed with a four-under 68 to move to 24-under for the tournament and a three-stroke win over Sadom Kaewkanjana of Thailand and Sihwan Kim of the United States.
Snyman finished one shot ahead of countryman Mathiam Keyser, who closed with a two-under 70 and a share of 42nd.
Keith Horne missed the cut, as did the Zimbabwean players Scott Vincent and Benjamin Follett-Smith.
