Two bogeys in the first seven holes put him on the back foot a bit, but Ian Snyman made four birdies without dropping any more shots on Sunday to finish in a share of fifth in the Asian Tour’s Smart Infinity Philippine Open in Manila.
His closing two-under-par 68 took him to seven-under-par for the tournament. Up front, Frenchman Julien Sale closed with a five-under 65 to move to 11-under and a one-stroke victory over Sadom Kaewkanjana of Thailand and Tomoyo Ikemura of Japan.
Snyman had rounds of 68 in the first two rounds and a one-under 69 in the third round.
Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe was the only other Southern African player in the field of the opening event of the Asian Tour season, and he finished in a share of eighth on six-under, one behind Snyman.
