Ian Snyman raced home with a bogey-free 64 on Sunday to climb into third place in the Asian Tour’s International Series Thailand at Black Mountain Golf Club for his best finish of his rookie season on that circuit so far.

Snyman made four birdies on each nine after opening with one on the very first hole, and he progressed to 22-under-par for the tournament, four shots behind the winner, Sihwan Kim of the United States, who had a nine-under 83 for his closing round. Kim was two shots clear of Phachara Khongwatmai of Thailand.

His performance lifted him to sixth on the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit after three tournaments on $87,275 (just over R1.3-million). He has played two of the three.

Mathiam Keyser and Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe finished on 18-under for the tournament after rounds of 66 and 68 respectively. They were in a share of 11th, while Jaco Ahlers closed with a three-under-par 69 for a share of 23rd on 16-under.
