Brandon Stone took advantage of a start on the DP World Tour on Wednesday to open the Soudal Open at Rinkven International Golf Club in Antwerp, Belgium, with a three-under-par 68 giving him a share of 18th.
Stone made six birdies and three bogeys to be four strokes off the lead which was help by Simon Forsstrom of Sweden. Forsstrom opened with a bogey-free 64 to lead by one from James Morrison of England, Germany’s Marcel Siem, Jens Dantorp of Sweden and England’s Andrew Wilson.
Stone shared 18th with Wilco Nienaber, who had a bogey-free 68 to start.
Hennie du Plessis was on two-under together with Justin Walters and Deon Germishuys in a share of 31st together with Joburg Open champion Dan Bradbury of England. Oliver Bekker was on one-under in a share of 57th with Zander Lombard, while Thomas Aiken, Louis de Jager and Darren Fichardt were on level-par in 75th.
Bryce Easton was on one-over, JC Ritchie on two-over, Daniel van Tonder on three-over and Tristen Strydom on five-over.
