Strong finish for Bezuidenhout in AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Christiaan Bezuidenhout closed with a bogey-free 69 on Sunday to climb into a share of 14th place in the PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Bezuidenhout picked up a birdie on the sixth on his front nine, and two more on 13 and 15 on his way home, as he climbed seven places on the leaderboard to finish on a tournament total of 11-under-par. That was eight shots behind the winner, Tom Hoge of the United States, who beat Jordan Spieth by two strokes. Beau Hossler was in third on 16-under-par, while Troy Merritt, Patrick Cantlay and England’s Matt Fitzpatrick shared fourth on 15-under-par.

Dylan Frittelli was the leading South African going into the final round, but he carded a closing one-over-par 71 to slip 14 places down the leaderboard into a share of 24th on nine-under for the tournament. Frittelli made four bogeys and three birdies in his round.

Bezuidenhout’s performance saw him climb 25 places on the FedEx Cup standings to 71st. Frittelli went up 21 spots to 105th.
