In his professional debut, Aldrich Potgieter closed with a four-under-par 68 on Sunday and finished tied for 35th at the Compliance Solutions Championship, held at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.

Potgieter signed off with a flourish, making eagle on the 18th to go with his four birdies and two bogeys. It was a good test for Potgieter, and he passed with flying colours. He showed that he can compete with the best golfers on the Korn Ferry Tour, and he could be a legitimate contender to earn a spot on the PGA Tour in 2024.

He reached 11-under-par for the tournament, which was 11 strokes behind the winner, Jimmy Stanger of the United States. Stanger carded a closing 66 to reach 22-under and beat Rafael Campos of Puerto Rico by one shot. Potgieter matched the man who is leading the Korn Ferry Tour’s Points List, Ben Kohles of the United States, who also finished on 11-under.

For his eagle, Potgieter reached the green of the par-five 18th in two, and made the putt. It was a good exclamation point to a week which started with a fine 67, had middle stanzas of 70 and 72, after which came his closing effort.
