It took the joint second-lowest round of the day, and Tristen Strydom’s five-under-par 65 in the second round of the Asian Tour’s International Series Egypt saw him make the cut on the number at level-par through 36 holes.

He started his round on the 10th, and picked up brides early on the 10th and 13th, but he made his only bogey of the day on the 14th when he missed the green on the par-three. He reached the turn in one-under-par 33, and then scored really well on his way home with five birdies and no dropped shots.

The tournament was led by Canada’s Richard T Lee, who added a second-round 65 to his opening 64. He led by one from Andy Ogletree of the United States, who had a six-under 64 to move to 10-under through 36 holes.

The best South African was still Jaco Ahlers, who carded a two-under 68 to move to eight-under for the tournament and a share of fifth, just three off the pace.

Ian Snyman carded a one-under 69 to move to four-under and a share of 23rd, while Mathiam Keyser’s three-over 73 saw him slip to two-under for the tournament and a share of 36th.

Zimbabwean brothers Scott and Kieran Vincent were on one-under and five-under respectively.

Neil Schietekat and Keith Horne missed the cut, as did Benjamin Follett-Smith of Zimbabwe.
