Telfer just misses out on LPGA Tour card

Kaleigh Telfer carded a final round of two-over-par 73 on Wednesday in the 2023 LPGA Q-Series in Mobile, Alabama to miss out on gaining her LPGA Tour card by just three shots.

A double-bogey on the ninth after she had advanced her total for the six-round qualifier to seven-under – just one off the number – set her back. She regained one of those strokes with a birdie on 11, but three bogeys on her way home put paid to her chances as the cut-off point fell at eight-under-par.

With 45 players and ties winning their playing privileges, Telfer finished up in a share of 62nd.

She will have to take her chances on the Epson Tour next season, but there could be some sort of lifeline for her if she plays on the Sunshine Ladies Tour and manages to break through in one of the Ladies European Tour co-sanctioned events.
