After missing the cut in the first Epson Tour tournament of the 2024 season, Kaleigh Telfer opened the second with a two-under-par 69 on Friday in the IOA Golf Classic presented by LPT Realty at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood, Florida.
She started her round on the 10th and immediately made a birdie on her first hole. A double-bogey five on the par-three 15th set her back, but she got things back to even-par for the round with a birdie on the 17th. She made two more birdies coming home, on the first and the sixth.
She was in a share of 13th place after the first round of the 54-hole tournament, four strokes behind the leader. Cydney Clanton of the United States topped the leaderboard with her opening six-under 65, and she was one stroke clear of three players on five-under.
Telfer came close to earning her LPGA Tour card last season, with 14 cuts made in 17 starts on the Epson Tour, with four top-10 finishes including a share of second in the Epson Tour Championship. She just missed out on promotion through her ranking, and also missed out from Q-School.
