Graham van der Merwe raced through the field on Wednesday with an eight-under-par 68 taking him to a two-stroke victory in the Bushveld Tour’s Blue Label Invitational #2 at Modderfontein Golf Club.
Van der Merwe made an eagle, eight birdies and two bogeys on his way to the joint-lowest round of the tournament. That gave him the edge over Dylan Naidoo, who had a seven-under 65 in his closing round to fall two short of forcing a play-off.
The other 64 of the day came from the man in third place, Jason Deltel, who finished up a further two shots back on eight-under. He had nine birdies and a bogey in his 64, and it put him one shot clear of the man in fourth place. That was amateur Jacques van der Merwe, who had a closing four-under 68.
Luke Jerling was in fifth on four-under after he closed with a six-under 66. Ricky Hendler and first-round leader Warwick Purchase shared sixth. Tiger Adams of England was in eighth, while Harry Konig and Slade Pickering shared ninth with amateur Dillon Germshuys.
