Erik van Rooyen got himself inside the top 125 of the FedEx Cup Fall Rankings on Sunday with his share of 23rd in the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Van Rooyen closed his week with his best round, a bogey-free six-under-par 65 which saw him climb nine places on the leaderboard to 14-under-par for the tournament. The winner was Korean Tom Kim for the second year in a row. He closed with a five-under 66 to beat Canada’s Adim Hadwin by one shot.
Garrick Higgo signed off with a two-under-par 69 to drop four places into a share of 46th at nine-under. He was projected to slip to 77th on the rankings, and should easily retain his card. Christiaan Bezuidenhout closed out the tournament with a five-under 66 to climb to a share of 56th. He is projected to 94th, and should also easily retain his card.
