When play was suspended for darkness on Thursday, with only two players still out on the course, two-time Sunshine Tour winner Kieran Vincent was in a share of second after the first round of the Asian Tour’s Moutai Singapore Open.

Vincent started his round on the 10th, and he made two birdies in his first three holes, which sandwiched his only bogey of the round. He made three more gains ahead of the turn and picked up three more birdies on his way home on the front nine.

His seven-under-par 65 put him just one shot off the lead, which was held at eight-under by Korea’s Jeunghun Wang. Wang also dropped just a single stroke in his opening eight-under 64, as he led by one from Vincent and the Thai duo of Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Gunn Charoenkul.

There were five players on six-under, and seven on five-under.

Jaco Ahlers was in a share of 17th on four-under, and Ian Snyman was on three-under in a share of 41st.

Jbe’ Kruger carded a one-under 71 and was down in a share of 79th, while the older Vincent brother, Scott, signed for an opening level-par for a share of 98th.
