Justin Walters carded a bogey-free four-under-par 68 on Friday to climb into a share of fourth place after the second round of the European Tour’s Austrian Golf Open at Diamond Country Club outside Vienna.

Walters picked up a birdie on the opening hole, and then made 11 consecutive pars before finishing with a flourish with birdies on 13, 15 and 18. With his opening one-under, he reached five-under for the tournament at the halfway stage.

He trails the first-round leader, Spain’s Alejandro Canizares, who had a second-round two-under 70, by two. In a share of second at six-under at the halfway mark are Germany’s Martin Kaymer and American John Catlin.
