Where they’re playing in South Africa this week: Fancourt

Feb 14, 2024 | Featured, Features, Sunshine Tour

All three courses at this premier golf resort – Montagu, Outeniqua and The Links – play host to the Sunshine Tour’s Challenge Tour co-sanctioned Dimension Data Pro-Am.

Located in the scenic Garden Route region, at least one of these courses is on most golfers’ wish lists, and for good reason. The three Gary Player-designed courses each have their own character and allure, with The Links being the flagship course.

Dramatic, unconventional holes, undulating fairways, pot bunkers and links-style greens make this one of the most revered layouts in the golfing world. The Links was added to the other two courses at Fancourt in 2000 when Player was set the challenge of building a unique and distinctive five-star golf course for Fancourt owner Hasso Plattner.

Since opening in the early 1990s, the Montagu and Outeniqua courses have matured and developed into two of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts in the country.

With its rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers, even the most experienced golfers will find themselves challenged on the Montagu course. For those who prefer a parklands course, Outeniqua also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

Whether you’re a seasoned golf pro or a novice, Fancourt’s golf courses offer something for everyone.
