Wrap: Buhai, Els in solid finishes in the US

Ashleigh Buhai finished in a share of 42nd on Sunday in the LPGA Tour’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship with a closing round of one-under-par 70 taking her to six-under for the 54-hole tournament.

She made a bogey on the sixth after a start of five consecutive pars, but she regained that lost shot with a birdie on nine ahead of the turn. Birdies on 11 and 12 took her to seven-under for the tournament, but a dropped shot on the 17th saw her settle 10 shots behind the winner, Nasa Hataoka of Japan. Hataoka won by one from Eun-Hee Ji of Korea and Australia’s Minjee Lee.

Paula Reto closed with a one-over 72 to finish n three-under for the tournament in a share of 63rd.

On the PGA Tour Champions, Ernie Els had a final round of one-under-par 71 to finish in a share of 13th in the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach. He was on five-under for the tournament which was won by KJ Choi on 13-under. Choi won by two from Bernhard Langer and Alex Cjeka of Germany.
