Jaco Ahlers climbed inside the top 20 on Saturday in the third round of the Asian Tour’s Yeangder TPC at Linkou International Golf and Country Club in New Taipei City when he carded a three-under-par 69.
Ahlers made four birdies and a bogey to move to 10-under-par for the tournament. That put him in a share of 15th, eight strokes behind the leader Poom Saksansin of Thailand. Saksansin had a brilliant eight-under 64 to move to 18-under and a two-stroke lead over Lee Chieh-po of Taiwan, Gaganjeet Bullar of India and Australia’s Travis Smyth.
Jbe’ Kruger was one stroke further back, on nine-under and in a share of 20th after a second round of two-under-par 70.
Ian Snyman, the leading South African after the second round, slipped to a three-over 75. He was in a share of 38th on six-under. MJ Viljoen was on five-under through 54 holes in a share of 46th after a level-par 72.
