There was no stopping the eventual winner on Sunday, but Louis Oosthuizen carded a closing round of three-under-par 69 at Al Mouj Golf in Muscat in the Asian Tour’s International Series Oman.

While Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz was on his way to a bogey-free seven-under-par 65 to finish on 19-under for the tournament, Oosthuizen made four birdies and a bogey to finish on 15-under in second place. And, in a leaderboard that was dominated by LIV players in search of world ranking points, Joaquin Niemann of Chile joined the winner and the runner-up in taking a good haul from the tournament with third place on 14-under. And in a share of fourth was another LIV player, Mito Pereira of Chile, who finished on 13-under with Maverick Antcliff of Australia.

Branden Grace battled his way to a closing two-over 74 to finish in a share of 27th on three-under for the week.

Dean Burmester endured a horror finish with a triple-bogey, a birdie and a double-bogey in his final three holes to sign for a five-over 77. He finished on two-under in a share of 31st.

Jbe’ Kruger was a further shot back after a final round of four-over 76 gave him a share of 38th.
