Rupert Kaminiski overcame a shaky front nine on Friday to card a one-under-par 69 in the second round of the Challenge Tour’s Blot Open de Bretagne at Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André in Pléneuf, France.

Kaminski led after the first round, but, after starting his second round with a birdie on the first, found himself making three bogeys on that front nine. But one more birdie helped him turn on just one-over, and he made two birdies on his way home to move to seven-under-par for the tournament and a share of seventh.

He was six strokes off the lead which was held by Bjorn Akesson of Sweden, who made successive eagle after the turn on the 10th and 11th to move to 13-under-par and a three-stroke lead over countryman Per Langfors and Jepp Kristian Andersen of Denmark. He shared seventh with two other players, including Zimbabwe’s Benjamin Follett-Smith.

Deon Germishuys added a second-successive two-under 68 to his total, and, at four-under, was in a share of 18th at the halfway mark. Dylan Naidoo had his second 69, and was in a share of 37th on two-under.

Wilco Nienaber was on one-under after his second-round level-par 70, while Louis Albertse, JJ Senekal, Luke Jerling, Albert Venter and Tristen Strydom missed the cut
