Jayden Schaper remained in a share of 16th place on Saturday as he carded a one-under-par 70 in the third round of the DP World Tour’s FedEx Open de France at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche in Paris.
Schaper’s two birdies and a bogey in trying weather conditions saw him reach five-under-par for the tournament, which put him six strokes off the lead.
Up front, Brooks Koepka finally seemed to become the kind of player he was before joining LIV Golf, as he carded a a six-under-par 65 to reach the top of the leaderboard at 11-under-par. In a share of the lead with him was Australian Min Woo Lee, who signed for a three-under-par 68. The pair led by one from Michel Lee of the United States, Italy’s Guido Migliozzi and Marcus Armitage of England.
“Yeah, it was pretty good,” said Koepka. “Putted a lot better.
“I feel like my game has been trending in the right direction. It’s just the results haven’t been there. I’m pleased with the work I’ve put in over the last few months so hopefully got a chance to win tomorrow.
“I’ve felt very uncomfortable over the putts pretty much all year, just a little bit of hand position. We’ve got it sorted now where I feel like I’m striking the putts very well, hitting them on line and feeling confident and that’s honestly half the battle.”
Richard Sterne, Jacques Kruyswijk and Justin Harding were in a share of 31st on two-under-par after rounds of 70, 70 and one-over 72 respectively.
