Deon Germishuys rounded out a good week on Sunday with a second consecutive four-under-par 68 taking him into a share of sixth in the Challenge Tour’s Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France.
He had two bogeys in his round, early and late on the second and 17th holes, but, in between, he had six birdies, including a golden run of four in a row from the fourth to the seventh. That performance saw him climb four places on the leaderboard to 11-under for the tournament, three shots out of the play-off.
It took four extra holes for England’s Nathan Kimsey to see off the challenge of France’s Robin Scott-Siegrist after the pair was locked on 14-under after regulation play. They were two clear of French duo Clement Sordet and Matthieu Decottignies-Laffon, and of Swede Mikael Lundberg.
Germishuys’ performance saw him climb seven places on the Challenge Tour rankings inside the top 20, in 15th place. That puts him – subject to continued good form – well on the road to winning his DP World Tour card at the end of the season.
Jayden Schaper closed with a one-over 73, taking him to two-over for the tournament and a share of 55th.
