Stacy Bregman carded her second successive one-under-par 71 on Friday to move into a share of 11th place at the halfway stage of the Ladies European Tour’s Big Green Egg Open at Rosendaelsche Golf Club in the Netherlands.
Bregman made four birdies and three bogeys in her round, and, at two-under for the tournament, she was six strokes behind the leader, Whitney Hillier of Australia. Hillier held a one-shot lead heading into the weekend, with a second successive round of 68 seeing the Australian star sit on eight-under.
The 31-year-old hd Sarah Schober for her closest company at the top of the leaderboard after two rounds, with the Austrian rolling in an eagle on her penultimate hole of the day to keep in contention.
It was a similarly strong finish for Hillier on Friday, as she birdied each of her final three holes to hold the advantage with 36 holes left to play. “I had a pretty good day today, I was patient more than anything, I had a couple of testing putts and a couple bogeys in between, but to finish off with three birdies was a good strong finish,” Hillier said.
The other South African in the field, Lejan Lewthwaite, was on level-par after a one-over 73 in her second round. That put her in a share of 20th place.
