Frittelli made two birdies early on in his round, on the second and third holes, but he gave those strokes back with bogeys on eight and nine. His homeward nine also had two birdies – on 10 and 13 – and two dropped shots on 11 and 14. Behind him, Christiaan Bezuidenhout grafted to get things back on track after his poor third round of six-over 76 spoiled his solid start to the week. He carded a closing level-par 70 to finish in a share of 64th, but will go through to the BMW Championship after slipping seven places on the FedEx Cup rankings to 60th.
