She bracketed her week with a pair of 66s, and Ashleigh Buhai rounded out another fine performance on the LPGA Tour as she finished in a share of sixth in the Shoprite LPGA Classic presented by Acer in Galloway, New Jersey.

The tournament was won by England’s Mel Reid, who took her maiden LPGA title by two strokes ahead of Jennifer Kupcho and Jenifer Song of the United States, Japan’s Nasa Hataoka, with American Nelly Korda rounding out the top five.

Buhai shared sixth with Canadian Brooke Henderson and Ryann O’Toole of the United States.

The South African started the final round with a bogey on the second, but she regained that stroke with a birdie on eight and then she made eagle on the par-five ninth. She chased hard down the home stretch, making five birdies, but bogeys on the 11th and 14th saw her finish the tournament on 11-under-par 272, eight shots in arrears of Reid. Her second and third rounds saw her return 71 and 70 respectively.

The performance lifted Buhai to 19th from 22nd in the Race to CME Globe Season. The top 60 and ties qualify for the CME Group Tour Championship from December 17-20 in Naples, Florida.
