He carded his second-successive two-under-par 70 on Saturday and that kept MJ Daffue South Africa’s leading player in the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club after the third round.

Daffue did slip 11 places down the leaderboard, however, as he made five birdies and three bogeys to move to 10-under-par for the tournament and a share of 30th. Another Canadian, Taylor Pendrith, who had a 67, was in third on 18-under-par.

There were solid 68s for Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Garrick Higgo, who have carded identical rounds of 71-69-60 to be in a share of 51st on eight-under.

Erik van Rooyen missed the cut after rounds of 72 and 71 on Thursday and Friday, as did Dylan Frittelli with rounds of 71 and 72. Aldrich Potgieter, playing in his second tournament as a professional, also missed the cut after a pair of 73s.
