World Golf Hall of Fame member Retief Goosen, Charles Schwab Cup leader Steven Alker, and reigning Senior Open champion Alex Cejka shared the lead after the first round of The Galleri Classic at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

Goosen matched his low score of the season with his six-under-par 66, with seven birdies and just a lone late bogey on the 15th. It’s his second time playing the Galleri Classic, where he finished in a share of third last year. He is looking for his third win on the PGA Tour Champions in his 102nd start. The last time he won was in 2022 in the Hoag Classic.

Billy Andrade birdied four of his first eight holes en route to a bogey-free 67 and sits in fourth. Seven players sit in a share of fifth at four-under, including Steve Stricker and Goosen’s World Golf Hall of Fame member Ernie Els.

David Frost opened with a one-over 73 to be in a share of 59th.
