Casey Jarvis had a share of 13th at the weekend on the Challenge Tour and that lifted him to a career-high 291st on the latest Official World Golf Ranking.

Jarvis’ upward climb was paused with a trio of missed cuts on the Challenge Tour in Spain, the Czech Republic and in France, but a solid week last week in Italy heralded a return to form as well as a continued march upwards on the rankings. He is now the 16th-highest South African on the list.

On the DP World Tour, Daniel van Tonder finished well in the Made in HimmerLand event in Denmark, with his share of 30th seeing him up 10 places on the rankings to 298th. Darren Fichardt had the best bump of any South African in the rankings as his share of 10th in Denmark lifted him 46 places to 499th.

There were also climbs for two players who had solid performances on the PGA Tour: Garrick Higgo climbed six places to 170th after a share of 21st in the John Deere Classic, and MJ Daffue was up three places to 165th after his share of 35th.

South Africa’s top-ranked player remains Thriston Lawrence, who was down three places to 78th.
