Casey Jarvis had a share of 13^th at the weekend on the Challenge Tour and that lifted him to a career-high 291^st on the latest Official World Golf Ranking.

Jarvis’ upward climb was paused with a trio of missed cuts on the Challenge Tour in Spain, the Czech Republic and in France, but a solid week last week in Italy heralded a return to form as well as a continued march upwards on the rankings. He is now the 16^th-highest South African on the list.

On the DP World Tour, Daniel van Tonder finished well in the Made in HimmerLand event in Denmark, with his share of 30^th seeing him up 10 places on the rankings to 298^th. Darren Fichardt had the best bump of any South African in the rankings as his share of 10^th in Denmark lifted him 46 places to 499^th.

There were also climbs for two players who had solid performances on the PGA Tour: Garrick Higgo climbed six places to 170^th after a share of 21^st in the John Deere Classic, and MJ Daffue was up three places to 165^th after his share of 35^th.

South Africa’s top-ranked player remains Thriston Lawrence, who was down three places to 78^th.
