After a birdie on the third and a bogey on the seventh on Monday, Justin Harding reeled off seven birdies in nine holes to card a superb seven-under-par 64 on the Lakes Course in the fourth round of the DP World Tour’s Qualifying School Final Stage at Infinitum Golf Club in Tarragona, Spain.
In the process, he lifted himself into third place as the cut to 65 and ties was made, and, at 17-under so far, he was just three strokes off the lead which was held – as it had been since the second round, by Italy’s Edoardo Molinari. The top 20 and ties after 108 holes will earn their DP World Tour playing privileges.
And, after four rounds, Jonathan Broomhead, Justin Walters, JC Ritchie and Rupert Kaminski will have to pack their bags and take another tack in their plans for the season in 2025. They all missed the cut.
Behind Harding, Neil Schietekat gave himself two more rounds to try and win his DP World Tour card after a fourth round of four-under-par 67. That put him in a share of 30th on 10-under-par. Wilco Nienaber was in a share of 38th after his four-under 67, while George Coetzee edged into the 36-hole slog for home with a one-under 71 on the Hills Course taking him to nine-under, inside the cut on the number and in a share of 65th.
The two non-South African Sunshine Tour regulars, Benjamin Follett-Smith of Zimbabwe and Rhys Enoch of Wales, both gave themselves a chance by making it through to the final two rounds. Follett-Smith was in a share of 13th on 13-under, and Enoch in a share of 47th on eight-under.
