Ian Snyman carded his best round of the tournament on Sunday as his closing seven-under-par 65 saw him finish in a share of 23rd in the Yeangder Tournament Players championship in Taiwan.

Snyman made eight birdies and dropped just a single shot in his final round at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club, and he closed the week out on 14-under-par. That put him 11 strokes behind the winner, Pavit Tangkamolprasert of Thailand.

Pavit holed a nerve-jangling four-foot birdie putt on the final hole to hold off defending champion Kazuki Higa and complete a memorable wire-to-wire victory. The one-shot win over playing-partner Higa from Japan handed him his first victory on the Asian Tour in seven years, after a string of near misses, and moved him into first place on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

Snyman slipped one place from third on the Order of Merit to fourth, ahead of next week’s Mercuries Taiwan Masters on a schedule that has been badly hurt by the end of the LIV-related International Series.

Snyman had made five birdies without dropping a shot by the time he reached the 14th, where he made the only bogey of his round. He followed that with three birdies in the closing four holes.
