Leon Vorster’s four-under-par 68 took him to victory on Thursday in the final round of the Big Easy IGT Challenge Tour’s Race to Q-School #8 at Riviera on Vaal.

Vorster made five birdies and a bogey to overtake overnight leader Gerhard Pepler, who carded a one-over 73 to finish in a share of second with Franklin Manchest and first-round leader Jason Froneman. Manchest also had a closing four-under 68, while Froneman signed for a level-par 72.

Voster made one birdie and his lone bogey on the front nine to turn in level-par, but that was enough to put him within striking distance of Pepler. And strike he did heading for home: Two birdies in a row on 10 and 11 brought victory within his grasp, and two more birdies on 14 and 17 sealed the deal.

Joe Heraty of England was fifth on six-under after a closing 70, with DK Kim in sixth on five-under. Kim also finished off his tournament with a two-under 70. Amateur Willie Olivier was seventh on four-under after a final round of level-par 72.
