Casandra Alexander was the best of the South African players at the end of the Trust Golf Asian Mixed Stableford Challenge at Siam Country Club in Thailand as he carded a closing 11-point round to finish in a share of 33rd.
In the event co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the Asian Tour, she finished on a total of 28 points in the modified stableford format, with the winner Sihwan Kim of the United States making 49 points. Kim won by two from Maja Stark of Sweden.
Alexander battled in the first round, after which she finished with no points, and in the third round where she had four points, but she had strong showings in the second with 13 and in the last round.
Next best of the South and southern African players was Nobuhle Dlamini of Swaziland, who had 26 points for a share of 42nd. Keith Horne finished on 25 points for a share of 46th, while Zimbabwe’s Benjamin Follett-Smith had 23 points and finished 51st.
Nicole Garcia, Mathiam Keyser and Brazil’s Adilson Da Silva missed the 36-hole cut.
